The condition of this course has declined since it opened, but the layout remains a strength and the greens are still excellent for this price level. It's just a shame that the now empty pro shop (undoubtedly due to theft) has contributed to less course maintenance. I still consider this course an outstanding value for the money and a worthwhile play for all skill levels.

I think Lockeford gives you a lot of bang for your buck and recommend it but it does have issues. The course has excellent resistance to scoring with sloping, elevated greens that are generally in really good shape and fast. The fairways and tees need maintenance but the traps now have fresh sand in them, although it has not settled in yet. It's not a course where you're going to find that club you've always wanted but it a fun track and I don't think it's been re-rated since some yards were added.

Lockford Springs is a fun course to play. The clubhouse and pro shop have gone down in quality since originally opened. Clubhouse is not stocked with golf equipment, perhaps due to numerous breakins and thefts at night due to remote area. Staff are great and friendly and do a good job with what they have. The course is well maintained except for the bunkers needing some sand. I would recommend it to anyone who is more interested in golf than clubhouse amenities.

This has been one of the top courses in the area. The layout is challenging but still player friendly. It presents a variety of shotmaking opportunities for many skill levels. The pro shop is somewhat barren of merchandise but the staff is friendly. The fairways are lacking for maintenance and water that detracts from the ambiance of the course. The condition of the greens was good and they rolled well. It continues to be a fine track that would benefit greatly by some TLC.

I have played this course many times, travelling over 60 miles to meet friends. It is always an excellent value. The layout is extremely enjoyable. I don't know how they keep the course up so nicely with such low pricing. I have never had a bad day at Lockeford and will return many times in the future. Replays are only the cost of the cart. We played 36 holes for $35 ($25 for $10 replay).

Rather busy for a Wednesday afternoon. Helps to play with someone who has played the course, because it meanders around a bit, and it's easy to find yourself at the wrong tee box. Sand traps were a little on the hard side, but the vineyards that line some of the holes is a nice touch.
